The NEROD RF from MC2 Technologies (France) is a directional multi-band drone jammer in rifle form. The manufacturer describes it as the jamming rifle of the French army. The device overlays a drone's radio links; the result depends on the failsafe and ranges from a return through a landing to a crash.
Legally, a device of this kind is reserved for authorities and armed forces, and its French origin changes nothing about that in Germany or Poland. In Germany every use of frequencies needs an assignment (Section 91(1) TKG); private persons and companies have no route to operation, unauthorised emissions are prosecuted, and drone defence follows Section 15a LuftSiG. In Poland, under Article 42 of the 2024 Electronic Communications Law, jammers are permitted only in cases regulated by statute and on the order of particular bodies; drone defence is governed by Article 156ze of the Aviation Law.
The device works in eight frequency bands and acts directionally: the effect is concentrated towards the target, and the surroundings outside the cone are burdened less than with all-round devices. It is built as a monoblock, that is in a single housing, and designed for left- and right-handed users (ambidextrous). The battery is an exchangeable military battery. The manufacturer names the military as the field of use.
With a rifle-form jammer, selection turns on how ergonomics, weight and battery logistics suit the task; the exchangeable battery allows operation beyond a single charge, but requires charging infrastructure and cycle tracking. Eight bands mean several transmit chains, which generate heat in continuous operation. Wear concerns the battery (cycle count, cell voltage), battery contacts, antenna and housing in field use, as well as the software version. Radio jamming is ineffective against drones with fibre-optic control or without radio.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
