Dexheimer of Dexheim in Rhenish Hesse is one of the small makers that supplied German viticulture with narrow-track tractors – tractors about one metre wide for the vine rows of the region, in which standard tractors cannot drive and for which the big makers long had no offer. The type logic of the SC range: the first digit gives the cylinder count, the following ones the hp class – 222 SC a two-cylinder of about 22 hp, 250 SC a two-cylinder of 50 hp, 342 SC a three-cylinder of about 42 hp, 370 SC turbo a turbocharged three-cylinder of 70 hp – SC marks the range. The engines are bought-in two- and three-cylinder diesels of 1.5 to 3.1 litres at 2,250 to 2,500 rpm, as small makers source from Deutz, Perkins or Lombardini; the machines themselves are narrow, low and built with a low centre of gravity for the slopes on the Rhine and Nahe.
