Unladen weight within it ranges from 4,050 to 4,725 kg; here the Agrofarm 430 sits at the bottom of that range with 4,100 kg. 692 Deutz-Fahr models across 50 series are on record.

Deutz-Fahr Agrofarm 85 to 430 TTV – the SDF group's entry range: DT for four-wheel drive, TTV for the stepless transmission, a 4.0-litre four-cylinder throughout, 60 to 80 kW, 4.05 to 4.73 t

Agrofarm is the simple, compact range below the Agrotron in Deutz-Fahr's line-up, which has belonged since 1995 to the Italian SDF group (Same Deutz-Fahr), headquartered in Treviso with its plant in Lauingen an der Donau. The models target smaller and medium farms and contractors looking for a rugged, low-maintenance all-rounder without electronic ballast. The type logic: the number gives roughly the power class in hp – Agrofarm 85 the smallest, Agrofarm 410 to 430 the larger versions – DT marks double traction, that is four-wheel drive, GS a higher trim level, and TTV the stepless version with hydrostatic-mechanical transmission. The same water-cooled four-cylinder of 4,038 cm³ is fitted throughout, also used in other SDF ranges of this class.

The register lists 8 versions with 60.2 to 80 kW, torque from 320 to 400 Nm and operating weights from 4,050 to 4,725 kg at gross weights from 6,100 to 7,500 kg; lengths range from 3,990 to 4,840 mm.

Agrofarm competes in the entry segment with the Case IH Farmall, New Holland T4 and Fendt Farmer/200 Vario, and is common chiefly in southern and eastern Europe and overseas, where simple mechanics and a low purchase price count for more than comfort equipment.

On used tractors, the condition of clutch and gearbox, leak-free hydraulics and PTO, rust on mudguards and cab, the condition of the front axle on the four-wheel-drive model and parts supply through the SDF dealer network, unproblematic for the 4.0-litre engine, are what count.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
