The DAF XG is the flagship range of New Generation trucks introduced in 2021 from the PACCAR plant in Eindhoven, replacing the previous XF cab at the top of the range. The type designation follows DAF's logic: XG denotes the standard cab, XG+ the taller cab version with more standing height, the number (430, 450, 480, 530) gives the engine power in hp, FA marks the rigid chassis for bodywork, FT the tractor unit, and suffixes such as FAR, FAN, FTG, FTP and FTS denote roof height and cab equipment; fully electric variants with the Electric suffix have recently joined the range.

On a used long-haul tractor unit, operating hours and mileage, the condition of the clutch and automatic transmission (TraXon), the AdBlue and exhaust system, the tyres and brakes of the drive axle, and, on the electric variants, battery condition and charging history all count; parts and service run through the dense DAF dealer network.
