CNH Steyr 9000 MT – the next power step of the four-cylinder range: 9095 MT and 9105 MT, 68 to 74.5 kW from 4,397 cc, kerb weight 4,180 kg, approved for rapeseed diesel
The 9000 MT range continues Steyr's four-cylinder line at the next power step up, with the 9095 MT and 9105 MT as closely spaced variants of the same 4,397 cc block; the MT suffix sets these models apart from the more simply equipped variants. Like the smaller Kompakt range, this four-cylinder is built at Steyr's St. Valentin plant and shares technical components with Case IH.

The register lists 2 variants at 68 to 74.5 kW from a four-cylinder diesel of 4,397 cc, a kerb weight of 4,180 kg, a length of 4,215 mm, a width of 2,170 mm, a height of 2,730 mm and a rated 2,300 rpm; both models are approved for rapeseed diesel.
At around 90 to 100 hp, the MT range reached into output bands sought after on mixed arable farms and in municipal work, competing there with comparable models from Deutz-Fahr, Fendt and New Holland.
Buying this four-cylinder tractor, the condition of the injection pump matters, along with the tightness of the hydraulic system, wear on the clutch and gearbox, and, given the rapeseed-diesel approval, the state of fuel lines and seals, which are more sensitive to biofuel than to plain diesel; parts run through the CNH network, including wear items for the clutch and hydraulic rams, and on both models the rapeseed-diesel-rated fuel lines and their fittings are worth a check too.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
