Above the Ares 500, CLAAS positioned the Ares 600 range at the same Le Mans plant with the models Ares 616, 656 and 696. As with the smaller sister range, production fell in the years 2002 to 2008; the type designation likewise rises with engine output. The Ares 600 also initially carried over the round, widely glazed cab from the Renault design before later CLAAS ranges switched to more angular cab shapes.
