New Holland T5000 (2007–2012) – the four-cylinder utility tractor from Jesi: T5030 to T5070, the last digits as power step, NEF four-cylinder of 4.5 litres in all models, Synchro and Dual Command, 56 to 83 kW

The T5000 was New Holland's utility tractor of the 75 to 115 hp class – introduced in 2007 as successor to the TL-A, built in Jesi in the Marche, the former Fiat plant that makes the brand's small and medium tractors, and replaced by the T5 in 2012. The type logic: T marks the tractor ranges of the blue programme, 5 the utility class, the last digits the power step – T5030 about 76 hp, T5040 about 86, T5050 about 97, T5060 about 106, T5070 about 113 hp – the Synchro Shuttle and Dual Command (with powershift step) transmissions and the equipment lines follow the suffix. The engine in all models is the FPT NEF four-cylinder of 4.5 litres at 2,300 rpm, with mechanical injection to emission stage IIIA and approval for biodiesel as the register notes – the register values of 4,485 cm³ in all versions show the one engine family whose power is graded through the injection quantity.

The register lists 5 versions with 55.9 to 83.1 kW from the four-cylinder of 4,485 cm³, torque from 291 to 471 Nm, unladen weights from 3,705 to 4,300 kg, lengths from 4,030 to 4,120 mm, widths from 2,005 to 2,138 mm and heights from 2,536 to 2,546 mm.

The T5000 is the tractor of grassland and dairy farms, horse yards and municipalities that competed with the John Deere 5M, the Massey Ferguson 5400 and the Deutz-Fahr Agrofarm; its successor T5 still rolls off the line in Jesi today.

On used tractors, operating hours, engine condition and injection pump, clutch and shuttle (Synchro or Dual Command), four-wheel-drive clutch, front loader and hydraulics, cab count; parts run through CNH and are widely available.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
