Fordson was Ford's tractor brand, built first in Cork, Ireland, and from 1933 in Dagenham near London; the type names Major and Dexta denote the large and compact post-war ranges respectively, Power and Super successive power upgrades. County Commercial Cars of Fleet built its own four-wheel-drive versions with a reinforced frame on the base of Fordson and later Ford tractors, for agriculture and industry.

The register lists here 13 versions with 20.1 to 70 kW (27 to 45 hp) from three- to six-cylinders of 2,360 to 5,400 cm³, unladen weights from 1,400 to 3,655 kg and a length of 2,949 to 3,370 mm; the engines are Ford's own diesels and, on individual versions, Perkins units.
The Fordson Major and its successors were among Britain's best-selling tractors in the 1950s and 1960s and were exported in large numbers; the County four-wheel-drive versions extended the range with vehicles for heavy groundwork and industrial use, for which the standard rear-wheel drive was not sufficient.
On these classics, engine condition and compression, the state of clutch and gearbox, rust on mudguards, bonnet and frame count, and on the County versions also the axles and transfer case of the four-wheel drive; parts run through specialist Fordson dealers and vintage-vehicle traders.
