This page gathers the Case tractors the register could not assign to a named range – from the years when, after the 1985 merger between the J. I. Case Company and International Harvester's agricultural division, the brand traded as Case International until 1999, before it became Case IH. The three- and four-digit types such as 844XL, 885XL, 956, 1255XL and 1455XL belong to the 85 series, whose number approximates the power class in hp; the XL suffix marks the long-wheelbase, larger-cab version, AXL its four-wheel-drive counterpart. The MXM 140 to 190 types stand for the Maxxum range, with which Case IH designated its mid-range from 2000, while the CASE IH MAXX PRO 5150-4 and International Maxum 5150 A show further versions of the same power class from that transitional period. 4X4 in the name always marks four-wheel drive, and the four-digit 4230 the more compact mid-range of the series.
