Auverland – other models: the collective page of French off-roaders outside the named ranges, A3 and A326D5, four-cylinder of 1,905 cm³, gross weight 2,200 kg

This page gathers the Auverland off-road vehicles the register could not assign to a named range. Auverland, based in Saint-Germain-Laval, France, built compact off-roaders and emerged from the earlier company Cournil; the A3 and A326D5 models belong to the maker's production programme.

The register lists here 2 versions from the four-cylinder of 1,905 cm³, unladen weights from 1,329 to 1,341 kg and a gross weight of 2,200 kg and widths from 1,540 to 1,580 mm.

Auverland off-roaders were common in France above all in agriculture, forestry and quasi-military use and competed with other light French off-roaders; the compact dimensions made them suitable for rough terrain and narrow tracks. As the successor to Cournil, Auverland relied on simple, sturdy technology that remained serviceable even away from well-developed roads.

On these off-roaders, rust on the frame and floor panel, the condition of transfer gearbox and propshafts, the tightness of the soft top or hardtop and the general condition of the four-cylinder diesel engine count; owing to the small production numbers, parts are mainly available through French specialist businesses, while wear parts from the Peugeot diesel engine range are in some cases still available new, which helps keep older, rarely seen examples on the road.

What to check before buying

  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
