AEG JM1 – three-phase motors made in China: frame sizes 132 to 280, 5.5 to 90 kW, two- to four-pole, efficiency 88.8 to 94.3%, supply voltages from 400/690 to 415/690 V
The JM1 range extends the China-made AEG motors into the larger frame-size spectrum: while the JL1 range covers frame sizes from 100 to 160, JM1 starts only at frame size 132 and reaches up to 280, paired with a clearly higher power spectrum. The type plates JM1 180M-4 through JM1 280M-2 follow the same frame-size and pole-count scheme as the smaller sister range.

The register lists 11 versions with 5.5 to 90 kW rated output, two- to four-pole, at supply voltages from 400/690 to 415/690 V. Full-load efficiency ranges from 88.84 to 94.29%, and at 75% load from 88.87 to 94.11%. Frame sizes span 132 to 280, and the protection class is IP55 throughout.
With outputs up to 90 kW, the JM1 range reaches the territory of medium-sized industrial motors, as needed for compressors, large pump installations and conveying systems in heavy industry. The noticeably higher efficiency compared with the JL1 range reflects the general trend that larger motors work more efficiently by design.
For a replacement, these more powerful motors call above all for checking bearing condition under high mechanical load, professional wiring of the multi-voltage connection, and adequately sized protection of the supply line. The uniform B3,B5,B14,B34,B35 mounting code makes replacement with other power ratings in the same range easier at this frame size too.

Frequently asked questions
How much power does the AEG JM1 280M-2 have?
The AEG JM1 280M-2 delivers 90 kW.
What to check before buying
- Match the data plate against the order: frame size, mounting and rating have to agree.
- Check the ingress rating against the installation site — outdoors or in dust the demands differ.
- Hold the mounting form and dimensions against the existing seat before ordering.
- The pole count sets the speed — when replacing an older unit, compare this first.
- For used units, ask about winding condition and bearing play.
- Ask about parts availability for this series — the running costs hang on it.
