The register holds 27 versions here with 86 to 449 kW from six-cylinder engines of 2,978 to 16,120 cc, kerb weights from 2,300 to 15,980 kg, gross vehicle weights from 4,500 to 39,500 kg, lengths from 5,350 to 12,250 mm and widths from 1,880 to 2,800 mm.

Box bodies of this kind serve in Finland mainly for general-cargo and distribution haulage as well as furniture and refrigerated transport; the wide spread from small distribution vehicles to heavy long-haul trucks shows how varied the vehicles gathered under this body class are. Volvo competes in this segment with Scania, Mercedes-Benz and DAF.

On box-bodied vehicles, check the roof and door seals for leaks, corrosion on the body-mounting rails, and – on the heavier versions – the condition of the clutch, gearbox and braking system; Finnish winters with road salt encourage corrosion on the chassis.
