With gross weights up to 2.6 tonnes, the range spans from small car trailers to mid-size working trailers, used behind vans and light commercial vehicles for carrying material and equipment on building sites and in trades.

When buying used, check the chassis and drawbar for rust and distortion, the axle and wheel bearings for play, the brake system for function and lining thickness, and the load floor and side panels for corrosion through. Spare parts for the axle, coupling and brake on Vepa trailers, as with comparable smaller builders, come from the general trailer-accessories trade. It is also worth checking the tyres and rims for age, tread depth and load rating, the spare wheel or repair kit and on-board tools, and that the chassis number, type plate and vehicle documents all match.
