The span from light trailers around 400 kg unladen to versions with a 2,000 kg gross weight shows a range running from compact single-axle trailers to load-capable tandem trailers, serving both private users and trade and small-business customers. The comparatively low unladen weight relative to the gross weight allows a relatively high payload on the larger types, making Trampling trailers suited to bulky but not overly heavy loads such as furniture, pallets or building material.

Buying used, check the condition of frame and load floor, axle, suspension and overrun brake, and the lighting system; on the heavier tandem versions also check the condition of both axles and the brake distribution. Parts for axle, lighting and coupling come from the general trailer parts trade, and on older model years the frame welds should also be checked for fatigue cracks.
