The MGX range is Steelwrist's sorting-grab line, the Swedish maker of excavator attachments and quick couplers from Vetlanda. The type number after MGX rises with build size from MGX2 to MGX26, matching the grabs to the corresponding excavator classes – from mini-excavator to large tracked machine; the multi-jaw design with hydraulically closing jaws suits sorting and handling scrap, spoil, timber and demolition material.

The register lists here 7 versions with own weights from 53 to 605 kg and lifting capacities from 1,000 to 10,000 kg.

Steelwrist is among the leading European makers of excavator attachments and is known above all for its quick-coupler systems with parallel tool locking; the MGX grabs extend the range into sorting and recycling tasks in earthworks and demolition as well as scrap and timber processing.

A rotator fitted to the grab turns the jaws endlessly through 360 degrees via a swivel feed-through without twisting the hoses, and like the closing cylinder it needs a second hydraulic circuit on the carrier machine, independent of the circuit for the boom and bucket. Build size determines, alongside own weight, the opening width and closing force of the jaws, that is which piece sizes and which specific weight of material a given grab can still hold safely.

On used sorting grabs, the condition of the jaws and cutting edges, the tightness of the hydraulic cylinders, the condition of bushings and pins, and the fit to the carrier machine's existing quick coupler count; spares and wear parts run through Steelwrist and its dealer network.
