SPRITE Other models

The register lists 89 versions here with a kerb weight of 400 to 1,340 kg and a gross weight of 800 to 1,600 kg, at widths of 1,970 to 2,330 mm and lengths of 4,650 to 7,180 mm.

Sprite sat in the entry segment of the British caravan market: light models towable by mid-size cars, sold at home and exported to continental Europe. The lighter ranges such as the 400 and 450 series targeted first-time buyers, while the heavier versions up to 1,340 kg offered more living space and payload.

Buying a used Sprite caravan is above all about checking for damp: roof skin, window frames, the front locker lid and the joints around the drawbar are the classic leak points on older bodies. Add to that the axle and wheel bearings, the condition of the overrun brake and a current roadworthiness check, plus, on older ranges, the gas system and wiring. Chassis and axle parts are available through the general caravan accessory trade, but body parts specific to Sprite are harder to find.
