SIERS Other models

The register lists here 11 versions with unladen weights from 240 to 1,180 kg, gross vehicle weights from 1,000 to 2,500 kg and widths from 1,580 to 2,070 mm.

The span from very light to over a tonne shows a wide field, reaching from small car trailers to working trailers for trades and agriculture, pulled behind everything from estate cars to vans, so the right tow vehicle and hitch class depend on the individual version chosen.

When buying used, check the chassis and drawbar for rust and distortion, the axle and wheel bearings for play, on the heavier versions the brake system for function and lining thickness, and the load floor and side panels for corrosion through. Spare parts for the axle, coupling and brake on Siers trailers, as with comparable smaller builders, come from the general trailer-accessories trade. It is also worth checking the tyres and rims for age, tread depth and load rating, the spare wheel or repair kit and on-board tools, and that the chassis number, type plate and vehicle documents all match.
