This page gathers the Saurer-Berna trucks the register could not assign to a named range – the 2DM 2VM, 2VM, 4.5t 4x4 and Saurer 5DM. Saurer of Arbon on Lake Constance and Berna of Olten were two Swiss truck makers that merged in 1929 and built heavy commercial vehicles together under the Saurer name into the 1980s, before the truck division ended in 1982.

Saurer trucks shaped Swiss long-haul and construction-site transport for decades and were known for their rugged build and in-house diesel engines; after truck production ended, the plant passed in part into the commercial-vehicle division of Mercedes-Benz, while the Saurer name today stands for textile machinery.
On these Swiss classics, the condition of the Saurer six-cylinder engine and its injection, the gearbox and clutch, the frame and axles, and corrosion of the cab and bed all count; spare parts today are only obtainable through Swiss classic-vehicle specialists and reproduction.
