SAIC-Iveco Hongyan – other models: the collective page outside the named ranges, from the Genlyon through the Kingkan to the Tampa, 12,000 to 15,000 kg, 7,480 to 9,553 mm length

This page gathers the SAIC-Iveco Hongyan models outside the named ranges, from the Genlyon tractor unit through the Kingkan to the Tampa. Hongyan of Chongqing, China, built heavy trucks under licence from Austria from the 1980s and in 2007 became part of SAIC-Iveco Hongyan as a joint venture of SAIC Motor and Iveco; the Genlyon, built since 2009, uses technology from the Iveco Stralis platform and is regarded as the brand's most European-influenced model.

The register lists here 3 versions with unladen weights from 12,000 to 15,000 kg, lengths from 7,480 to 9,553 mm, widths from 2,500 to 2,540 mm and heights from 3,510 to 3,915 mm.

SAIC-Iveco Hongyan is one of China's larger heavy-truck marques, supplying above all domestic long-haul haulage, construction-site traffic and exports to Southeast Asia and Africa; the Genlyon serves as the brand's flagship in international business, while the Kingkan and Tampa work mainly in domestic Chinese heavy haulage and on building sites, competing there with the domestic groups Sinotruk and FAW.

On these heavy tractor units and construction vehicles, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, rust on the frame, the tightness of the cab mounting, and brakes and air suspension under continuous construction-site use all count; spare parts run through the Chinese Iveco and SAIC dealer network.
