The six-cylinder diesel engine of 6.9 litres drives a vehicle 8,440 mm long and 2,540 mm wide on four wheels. With a kerb weight of 9,100 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 13,000 kg, the payload comes to about 3,900 kg, on a wheelbase of just 4,250 mm, short relative to the length of the whole body, which helps the vehicle clear crests and ditches.

With a gross vehicle weight of 13 tonnes, the vehicle falls into class N3. The short wheelbase relative to body length improves off-road ability over crests and ditches, while the recorded top speed of 100 km/h also allows for brisk travel on paved roads.

When buying such a specialised off-road vehicle used, what matters most is the condition of the axles, differential locks and off-road tyres, along with signs of heavy off-road use such as underbody damage. Service history is especially important on a vehicle built in small numbers, since specialised workshops are rare and repairs outside the authorised network can be difficult to arrange.
