Mercedes-Benz MB-trac 1400 turbo (series 443.164): turbocharged six-cylinder engine rated at 100 kW, built from February 1987 to December 1991, top speed 30 km/h.
The MB-trac 1400 turbo of the 443.164 series was built by Mercedes-Benz at its Gaggenau plant from February 1987 to December 1991 as one of the last and most powerful MB-trac models. Like the whole line, it follows the system-tractor concept with equal-sized wheels front and rear and a rotating driver's seat for working front- and rear-mounted implements.

The water-cooled six-cylinder engine displaces 5,958 cm³ and produces 136 hp (100 kW) at 2,400 rpm with 470 Nm of torque. At an unladen weight of 5,980 kg and a wheelbase of 2,650 mm, the tractor's design top speed is 30 km/h. At 4,680 mm long, 2,500 mm wide and 2,930 mm high, it counts among the largest and heaviest MB-trac models.
Turbocharging significantly raises output and torque over unblown MB-trac variants of the same displacement, which helps with heavy tillage and trailer haulage. As on the Unimog, portal axles provide high ground clearance, and four-wheel drive is standard. The tractor is registered under the T licence class.
When buying a used example, check the tubular frame, where rust tends to start at the mounting points for front and rear implements. On the turbocharger, boost pressure and oil supply matter; on the hydraulics, check the fittings for leaks. The seat's rotation mechanism and lock should move freely. Drivetrain and axle parts are usually still available through Unimog spares suppliers.
