Mercedes-Benz MB trac 1000 (series 441.161/441.162): six-cylinder engine rated at 70 kW, built from 1982 to 1991, top speed 40 km/h.
The MB trac 1000, built as model codes 441.161 and 441.162, was produced by Mercedes-Benz at its Gaggenau plant between 1982 and 1991. Like all MB-trac models, it follows the system-tractor concept with equal-sized wheels front and rear and a rotating driver's seat for working front- and rear-mounted implements.

The water-cooled six-cylinder engine displaces 5,675 cm³ and produces 95 hp (70 kW) at 2,400 rpm with 324 Nm of torque. At an unladen weight of 4,500 kg, on four wheels with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, the tractor's design top speed is 40 km/h. At 4,450 mm long, 2,160 mm wide and 2,860 mm high, it counts among the more compact MB-trac models.
At 40 km/h the MB trac 1000 stays within the 60 km/h limit of the T tractor licence class, yet reaches a higher road speed than many slower MB-trac variants. As on the Unimog, portal axles and standard four-wheel drive provide high ground clearance on uneven ground as well.
When buying a used example, check the tubular frame, where rust tends to start at the implement mounting points. The seat's rotation mechanism and lock should move freely. Given the higher road speed, it is also worth checking the brakes and steering for play. Drivetrain and axle parts are usually still available through Unimog spares suppliers, as with other MB-trac models of the period.
