Meinala – other models: the collective page of trailers outside the named ranges 190, 191, Dolly and M-191, 2,600 to 9,550 kg unladen weight, 18,000 to 36,000 kg gross weight

This page gathers the Meinala trailers the register could not assign to a named range. The four listed types carry the designations 190, 191, Dolly and M-191. A dolly is a connecting unit used to hitch a semi-trailer to a tractor without a fifth wheel, so it can be towed as a full trailer.

The register lists here 4 versions with unladen weights of 2,600 to 9,550 kg, gross weights of 18,000 to 36,000 kg, lengths of 4,900 to 11,030 mm and widths of 2,450 to 2,480 mm.

With gross weights of 18 to 36 tonnes, all four versions fall into the class of heavy trailers and articulated-combination components for commercial goods transport, used in Finland and Sweden in long combinations with a trailer or semi-trailer. Driving such combinations requires a category CE licence.

On a used example, axle and braking-system condition, the function of the air brake and coupling, and on the dolly version the condition of the fifth-wheel plate and connecting drawbar as well, rust and cracks on the frame, and the state of tyres and rims all count. Parts usually run through independent commercial-vehicle workshops rather than a manufacturer network. It is also worth comparing the VIN and the registration document against the trailer's data plate. Before buying, a test tow is also worthwhile, checking tracking, braking behaviour and noises while under way.
