Liebherr LG and LTC – lattice boom mobile cranes and compact cranes from Ehingen
This page brings together the Liebherr mobile cranes that belong to neither the LTM nor the MK series: the lattice boom mobile cranes of the LG series and the telescopic compact cranes of the LTC series. As with the LTM cranes, the type designation follows a code: the 1 is followed by the maximum load capacity in tonnes – the LG 1750 is rated for 750 t, the LTC 1050-3.1 for 50 t. On the LTC cranes the digit after the hyphen gives the number of axles and the digit after the point the generation.

The register lists eight visible versions here: LG 1150, LG 1550, LG 1750 and LG 1800-1.0 as well as LTC 1045-3.1, LTC 1050-3.1, LTC 1050-3.1E and LTC 1055-3.1. Unladen weights range from 35,750 kg for the LTC cranes to 95,750 kg for the LG 1750, and the recorded engine outputs from 232 to 440 kW.
Lattice boom mobile cranes are used where telescopic cranes reach their limits of capacity or hook height, for example on large industrial and wind turbine installations. The LTC compact cranes are built for confined sites; besides its combustion engine the LTC 1050-3.1E has a 72 kW electric motor that lets it run crane operations on site power without exhaust emissions.
On a used crane, what counts are the operating hours of carrier and superstructure, the crane's inspection history, the condition of boom, ropes and winches, and whether ballast and accessories are complete.
