Kühner & Berger Dieselzwerg, built 1950 to 1956: three-wheeled implement carrier with single-cylinder diesel and 7.5 hp, only 198 units built
The Dieselzwerg belongs to the class of small three-wheeled implement carriers offered in the 1950s as an affordable alternative to the classic four-wheeled farm tractor for small and medium-sized operations. As a load-carrying tricycle, the machine carries implements between the axles rather than on a fixed three-point hitch.

The single-cylinder diesel engine of 763 cm³ displacement delivers 7.5 hp at 1,500 rpm and is cooled by an evaporative system without a water pump. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a gearbox with six forward and two reverse gears plus an auxiliary range gearbox. At a weight of 750 kg, the Dieselzwerg reaches a design top speed of 15 km/h. 198 units of the machine were built, plus one prototype.
At 15 km/h, the Dieselzwerg falls into driving licence category L. The evaporative cooling system needs no water pump or radiator, but reaches its limits under sustained full load, which is why such drives were designed more for changing, short work cycles than for continuous operation. At only 750 kg kerb weight, the three-wheeled implement carrier puts markedly less pressure on the ground than a classic four-wheeled tractor, which made it attractive for sensitive crops.
When buying an implement carrier of this type, the water level in the evaporative cooling system and the tightness of the cooling lines are a first thing to check, since there is no closed cooling circuit with a pump here. The auxiliary gearbox should be checked for clean shifting through all six forward and two reverse gears. With a total production of only 198 units, sourcing spare parts will be the biggest hurdle, so the structural condition should weigh more heavily on the purchase decision than the usual wear parts.
