Striking is the tare weight of 18,000 kg against a gross weight of 30,720 kg, leaving only 12,720 kg of payload - a very low figure for a trailer of this size. It comes from the fixed interior fit-out of an exhibition module, with walls, flooring, equipment and furniture that already take up a large share of the permitted weight. At 13,830 mm long, 2,550 mm wide and with a 9,300 mm wheelbase, it offers a correspondingly large usable interior.
A trailer fitted out this way is usually used in a fixed location and only moved between sites, not in daily freight operation. From class O3 upward, a compressed-air braking system is mandatory and comes as standard at this weight, and driving such a combination requires a category CE licence in most EU states, even though it carries hardly any cargo in the conventional sense.
Buying a used exhibition trailer, besides the chassis, the condition of the interior fit-out matters most: moisture damage to walls and floor, the function of the built-in equipment, and the seal of windows and doors. On the running gear, the axles, brakes and tyres should be checked like on any heavy trailer, even though it rarely covers long distances.
