With unladen weights ranging from one and a half to almost two and a half tonnes, these Herkules trailers are among the heavier examples in their class and are built to carry correspondingly heavy loads such as machinery, vehicles or building materials. The comparatively small margin between unladen weight and gross vehicle weight on some versions points to a design geared more towards sturdiness than maximum payload.

When buying a used O2 trailer of this weight class, the condition of the axles, overrun brake and frame, along with corrosion on the drawbar and floor panel, matter most, as these are put under particular strain on frequently heavily loaded trailers. Brake and lighting function should be checked under load. Spare parts for axles and brakes are available through the general trailer parts trade.
