GreenMech – further models: British wood chippers on a single-axle trailer, Arborist 150 to QuadChip160, gross vehicle weight 750 kg, lengths 3.21–3.52 m

GreenMech builds mobile wood chippers in Alcester in the English county of Warwickshire, supplied on single-axle O1-class trailers. This collective page carries the versions outside the maker's named series: Arborist 150 denotes a chipper with a 150 mm infeed opening for tree surgeons, while Quad Chip and QuadChip160 form the more compact four-roller line with a 160 mm infeed.

The register lists 3 versions here with a gross vehicle weight of 750 kg, lengths from 3,211 to 3,518 mm and widths from 1,291 to 1,502 mm.

With the O1 class's maximum weight, these chippers can be towed unbraked behind cars and light vans without an extended trailer licence, which makes them common with grounds-care and landscaping firms and tree surgeons; the four-roller infeed system gives even feed even with branchy and damp material, setting GreenMech apart from simpler drum chippers with only a single infeed roller. On the road, the compact trailers are recognisable by their narrow width of roughly 1.3 to 1.5 m against a comparatively long drawbar.

When buying used, check the condition of blades and anvil, play and wear in the infeed rollers, the chassis axle and brake, and the tightness of the hydraulic system. Replacement blades, rollers and wear parts are supplied by GreenMech itself and by the forestry and garden-machinery trade.
