GREENMECH Other models

3 models in this series

GREENMECH – other models: the collective page of trailer chippers outside the named ranges, with Arborist 190, Evo 205 and Greenmech, 990 to 1,430 kg unladen weight, 1,200 to 1,450 kg gross weight

GreenMech is a British manufacturer of wood chippers based in Alcester, Warwickshire, whose machines are often mounted on their own single-axle trailer chassis. This page gathers the trailer versions the register could not assign to a named range – the Arborist 190 and Evo 205 types belong to well-known chipper ranges of the brand, with 'Arborist' denoting the range built for tree surgeons.

The register lists here 3 versions with unladen weights from 990 to 1,430 kg, gross weights from 1,200 to 1,450 kg, lengths from 3,330 to 3,920 mm and widths from 1,430 to 1,600 mm.

With gross weights up to 1.45 tonnes, the versions fall into the light braked trailer class that can also be towed by smaller vehicles. Unlike plain transport trailers, the chassis here carries a permanently fitted chipping unit, so much of the unladen weight goes into engine, infeed rollers and hopper rather than a load body. For registration behind the tow vehicle, besides the trailer's gross weight the rated towing capacity is also decisive.

On a used example, the trailer side calls for checking axle, wheel bearings, the overrun brake and its linkage, and rust on frame and drawbar; the chipping unit itself – blades, infeed rollers, engine and safety cut-out – is checked separately. Spare parts come through the manufacturer and its dealers.
