This page gathers the Ford construction machines the register could not assign to a named range – backhoe loaders and one compact loader. Ford's construction equipment division built the 450 to 655 backhoe range, whose last digits mark the power class and the letter A or B the generation; the division merged into Fiat-Hitachi and later New Holland Construction in 1991 as part of the merger with Fiat's construction equipment business. The CL30 is a skid-steer compact loader from the same range.

Ford's 550 and 655 backhoe loaders were, in the 1980s and 1990s, alongside JCB and Case among the common construction machines on building sites in North America and Europe, and mark the era before Ford sold its construction equipment business to Fiat and later New Holland.
On used backhoe loaders, the condition of the excavator arm and loader bucket, hydraulic cylinders and hoses, transmission and axles, and frame cracks at the pivot points count; spares now run through the successor network of New Holland Construction and independent construction-equipment dealers.
