This page gathers the trailers of the Dutch maker De Nijs the register could not assign to a range of their own – from the A 3500 and DS 3500 to the PL 2001 and PL 2002. The figure 3500 in the type designations A 3500 and DS 3500 gives the gross weight of 3,500 kilograms, as confirmed by the upper end of the span. Trailers in this class could run unbraked up to a gross weight of 750 kg, but in practice even the lighter models carry the overrun brake that class O2 requires above that threshold.

The register lists here 4 versions with unladen weights from 500 to 1,200 kg, gross weights from 2,000 to 3,500 kg and widths from 1,720 to 2,430 mm.

At gross weights up to 3.5 tonnes, these are classic trailers for the BE driving licence category, towed by tradespeople, farmers, horticultural firms and private users in the Netherlands behind vans and heavy cars. The RDW registration data this register draws on show De Nijs as one of the smaller Dutch trailer builders alongside the country's big brands.

On a used example, rust on the chassis and drawbar, the condition of the overrun brake, axle bearings and suspension, the drawbar eye and the electrics all count. On the models with a larger load bed, also check the sides, ramps and lashing points; spare parts for axles and brakes come from the usual Dutch and European trailer suppliers. On the overrun device, besides the spring travel, the condition of the brake cables to the wheel brakes also matters, as they stretch or rust over time; on the frame, the weld seams at the drawbar mount and axle mounting deserve a close look in particular.
