BYD RIDE – K-series electric buses for North America
RIDE is the North American brand for BYD's electric buses and coaches. They have been built in Lancaster, California since 2013. The models follow BYD's K-series designations: K7 (about 8 m), K8 (10.5 m), K9 (12 m) and the articulated K11 (18 m). According to the maker, the K9MD is 40.9 ft long and the K11M 60.7 ft. Several K types passed Altoona bus testing, including K7 (2017), K9 (2014) and K11 (2020).
