Trailers in this weight range are the classic car trailers for vans, tradespeople and private users: for building material, garden waste, machinery or as box trailers. The market for this class is highly fragmented, with many small and medium manufacturers alongside a few large brands.

When buying used, check the condition of the chassis, sides and loading floor, the operation of the overrun brake above 750 kg gross weight, the condition of tyres and lighting, and rust on the drawbar and mounts. Parts such as axles, brakes, lighting and sides are available through the general trailer trade.
