The Zetor CRYSTAL 160 is a tractor from the Crystal series.

Zetor Crystal – Brno's six-cylinder flagship from 8011 to 16045 and the new Crystal 150/170 HD generation since 2015, 60 to 120 kW, unladen weights 4,800 to 5,760 kg

Zetor Crystal has been the six-cylinder range of the Brno tractor maker Zetor since 1968, standing as the flagship above the smaller four-cylinder ranges. The classic Crystal 8011, 12011, 12045 and 16045 models carried the approximate output in hp multiplied by the factors of their generation in the type designation; in 2015 Zetor revived the name with the new Crystal 150 and Crystal 170 HD generation, which picks up the old flagship tradition but is technically a distinct model.

The register lists here 9 versions with 60 to 120 kW (80 to 160 hp) from six-cylinder diesel engines of 6,057 cm³ displacement. Unladen weights range from 4,800 to 5,760 kg at a permissible gross weight of up to 10,000 kg, lengths from 5,410 to 5,770 mm, width stands at 2,550 mm and height at 2,970 mm.

As the marque's six-cylinder flagship, the Crystal targets farms with high draught-power needs and large fields, as found in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other Eastern European countries, where it competes with Western six-cylinder tractors of comparable power class.

On the classic Crystal models, the cab and frame's condition against rust, the state of the injection pump and the six-cylinder cooling system, and hydraulic tightness rank among the key checkpoints; on the new Crystal HD generation, cab electronics, transmission and exhaust aftertreatment come to the fore. Spare parts run through the Zetor dealer network.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
