Ford – other models: collective page of Ford entries outside any named range, from the Model T to big Cummins diesels with 170 to 270 kW after the 1987 Versatile takeover
This collective page gathers Ford entries the register could not assign to a range of its own: alongside the Model T from the early 20th century it lists the names of regional Ford companies such as Ford Germany, Ford India, the Ford Motor Company of Canada and Ford do Brasil, plus the Versatile 846, 946 and 976. Versatile was a Canadian builder of large articulated tractors that Ford took over in 1987 and initially sold under its own name, before the business passed to Ford New Holland and later to New Holland; the big Cummins engines in this register match exactly those articulated tractors of the late 1980s.

The register lists here 8 versions with outputs from 170 to 270 kW from six-cylinder Cummins diesels, including the NTA-855, NTA-885 and LT10 series, at a rated speed of 2,100 rpm.
Unlike the range pages of the register, this collection shows above all the breadth of the Ford brand across continents and decades: from mass motoring with the Model T, through worldwide production sites, to the short but consequential episode as a farm-equipment maker with Versatile. The big Cummins diesels marked the top class of articulated tractors at the time and competed with the Case IH Steiger and John Deere.
On Cummins engines of this class, typical wear points are the head gasket, turbocharger and injection pump, and on the articulated tractors also the pivot joint and all-wheel steering; parts for the NTA and LT10 series are still widely available through the open farm-equipment trade. On the early models and the Model T, by contrast, parts supply is limited to specialist vintage workshops.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
