Mack MP7 — the 10.8-Liter Engine from Volvo Group's Mack Brand
The MP7 is an inline six-cylinder diesel displacing 10.8 liters (659 cubic inches), spanning 325 to 425 hp with 1,260 to 1,560 lb-ft of torque. It is built by Mack Trucks — part of the Volvo Group since 2001 — at the Hagerstown, Maryland plant.

The MP7 launched in 2006 alongside the new Mack Pinnacle, and together with the larger MP8 (from 2007) formed the new MP engine family that replaced earlier units such as the Mack E7. Within the Volvo Group, Mack shares underlying engineering with Volvo's own engines but calibrates the MP series independently to Mack's own pulling-power and durability targets.
The MP7 powers medium- to heavy-duty Mack trucks in the Pinnacle and Granite ranges, used in distribution, construction-site and regional long-haul work.
On a used MP7, turbocharger and SCR/EGR service history is the key check; since the Pinnacle lineup now offers the larger MP8 as its sole engine option, later MP7-equipped trucks are comparatively rare, so parts availability is worth confirming before purchase.
