TCM Forklift – a modular code built from type, tyres, engine and gearbox
Japanese manufacturer TCM assembles its type code from several building blocks: an initial letter marks the power source — "D" for diesel, "G" for gasoline/LPG — followed by a letter for the tyres, such as "C" for solid tyres. The next number gives the capacity class, followed by a letter for the engine supplier (e.g. "N" for Nissan-built engines, "Z" for Isuzu) and sometimes a code for the transmission type.
