Skyjack of Guelph, Ontario, part of the automotive supplier Linamar since 2002, is with Genie and JLG one of the three big North American makers of scissor lifts and added telehandlers to its programme in the 2000s – first with the ZB range, then with the SJ TH, aimed at rental fleets that source platforms and loaders from the same maker. The type logic follows the American convention: SJ stands for Skyjack, the first digits give the capacity in thousand pounds, the last the lift height in feet – an SJ519 lifts 5,000 lb to 19 ft, an SJ843 8,000 lb to 43 ft, an SJ1056 10,000 lb to 56 ft, an SJ1256 12,000 lb to 56 ft – TH for Telehandler, THS for the version with outriggers; the ZB2044 of the older range lifts 20,000 lb to 44 ft. The engines come from Deutz (TCD 2.2, 2.9 and 3.6) and Cummins (QSB 4.5), four-cylinders to emission stage IV.
