The Opel Movano has been built in joint construction with the Renault Master since its 1998 launch, produced at the French plant in Batilly and, in Britain, formerly also by IBC Vehicles in Luton for the right-hand-drive market; Nissan sells the same technology as the NV400 or Interstar. The type codes in the model names follow the shared platform: L1 to L3 denote the wheelbase and length variants, H1 to H3 the roof heights, alongside the permissible gross weights of 2.8, 3.3 and 3.5 tonnes in which the Movano is offered as a panel van, combi, dropside or chassis cab. It is powered by the CDTI diesel engines from the Renault-Opel cooperation, mostly four-cylinder units in the second generation.
