The Motor Coach Industries D45 CRTe is the electric version of the D45 CRT, built in 2020-2021. It runs on electricity instead of diesel and is classed as a Coach bus, meaning an intercity coach rather than a conventional truck.

The US data give it a CO₂ limit of 210 g/tkm (US); its diesel sibling, the D45 CRT, has a value of its own there. Electric drives produce no tailpipe emissions while driving, so the limit entry mainly serves to classify the vehicle consistently in the database.

When launching the D series, MCI presented a battery-electric commuter coach with a low-entry vestibule and ramp, built on New Flyer propulsion technology and able to charge fully in under three hours. To tell the D45 CRTe from the diesel version, look for the added e in the name.
