The Kalmar DCE140-6 is a heavy-duty diesel forklift from Kalmar, the brand specialised in port and terminal equipment. It carries 14,000 kg and so belongs to the models that sit between medium industrial forklifts and the largest port trucks.
The standard mast reaches a lift height of 5,000 mm, more than on most forklifts of this class. Anyone who can lift 14,000 kg to five metres can also load tall racking or set loads down on the third tier. The load centre is 609.6 mm. The unladen weight of 16,100 kg forms the counterweight; the width of 2,540 mm and the pneumatic tyres with two wheels at the front and two at the rear set the space needed in aisles. On port areas and works yards that width is enough to manoeuvre between storage blocks.
In the Kalmar range the DCE140-6 stands between the smaller and the larger models of the DCE line. It is used in steel ports, on storage yards for timber and precast concrete, and in the paper and pulp industry, where high stacking and high single weights come together.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
