Iveco was formed in 1975 from the merger of the commercial-vehicle divisions of Fiat, OM and Lancia with the French maker Unic and the German Magirus-Deutz into the Industrial Vehicles Corporation, based in Turin; the Daily arrived in 1978 and has since been developed through successive generations. The type logic: the 35 gives the weight class around 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight, the C stands for dual rear tyres for higher payload, the final number 14 the power step of around 140 hp. Alongside the diesel versions, the register also lists a natural-gas version (CNG EEV) with Euro V emission stage, a sign of the Daily's early gas strategy for inner-city distribution traffic.
