Iveco was formed in 1975 from the merger of the commercial-vehicle divisions of Fiat, OM and Lancia with the French maker Unic and the German Magirus-Deutz into the Industrial Vehicles Corporation, based in Turin. The Daily arrived in 1978 as a light van and has since been built through successive generations with continuous updates. The type designation follows a fixed Daily logic: the 35 gives the weight class around 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight, the C stands for dual rear tyres – twin wheels for higher payload, as opposed to S for single tyres – and the final number gives the power step, here 13 for around 130 hp.
