IMR Rakovica – other models: Yugoslav-Serbian tractors from Belgrade, R series from R-47 to R-120, 34 to 88 kW, three- to six-cylinder diesels, STANDARD and SPECIAL trim variants
IMR Rakovica was an industrial combine in the Rakovica district of Belgrade that, in the former Yugoslavia, built tractors alongside trucks and buses. The models gathered here carry the type code R followed by a number, plus the Standard and Special suffixes for trim variants; production was geared to the needs of Yugoslav agriculture and to export markets within the Non-Aligned Movement, with sales reaching beyond the Eastern Bloc as well.

The register lists here 7 versions with 33.8 to 88.3 kW from three- to six-cylinder diesel engines of 2,502 to 5,795 cm³, torque from 145 to 245 Nm at 2,000 to 2,300 rpm, unladen weights from 2,085 to 5,315 kg, lengths from 3,135 to 4,570 mm and widths from 1,860 to 2,210 mm.
As part of Yugoslavia's heavy industry, IMR Rakovica stood for the country's self-sufficiency in farm machinery, supplying the domestic market as well as countries in Africa and the Middle East; after the breakup of Yugoslavia and the wars of the 1990s, tractor production came to a halt.
On these rare machines, what counts is the condition of the engine and injection pump, the tightness of the hydraulics, the condition of clutch and gearbox, and rust on the bodywork and chassis; parts are barely obtainable through regular channels outside the Balkan region, and specialists in Eastern European tractors are the ones to seek out.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
