HD Construction Equipment builds diesel engines that trace back to the Doosan Infracore engine programme, trading under the HD Hyundai name since the takeover by the South Korean Hyundai group and its 2023 rebrand. Maximum torque ranges from 105 to 4,721.5 Nm at speeds of 1,300 to 1,800 rpm. Among the turbochargers, waste-gate design prevails (27) ahead of fixed geometry (6); among the emission stages, Tier 4 (Final or Phase-in) leads with 27 ahead of Tier 3 with 5, Tier 2 with 4 and Interim Tier 4 with 3 versions. Model years run from 2011 to 2027.
The D and DL ranges cover practically the whole power spectrum from small mini excavators to large crawler excavators and wheel loaders, competing with Cummins, Perkins and Yanmar engines in Korean and international construction machinery.
