The register lists 12 versions with four-cylinder engines from 1,242 to 1,910 cm³, kerb weights from 1,035 to 1,260 kg, gross vehicle weights from 1,765 to 1,915 kg, lengths from 4,400 to 4,460 mm and widths from 1,660 to 1,710 mm.

In Brazil and other Latin American markets, the Strada is among the best-selling compact pick-ups, competing there with the Chevrolet Montana and Volkswagen Saveiro; its small-car basis gives it lower fuel consumption than traditional pick-ups but limits payload compared with larger models. Since 2020 a new global generation of the Strada has also reached markets outside Latin America, built alongside Fiat's other light commercial models.

When buying used, check the load bed and its galvanising, corrosion at the rear spring mounts and wings, the timing-belt interval on the older engines, and on the common-rail diesels the condition of the injectors and particulate filter. Parts are well supported through Fiat's broad Latin American network; supply is more limited in Europe.
