The Nexos is Claas's specialist tractor for fruit, wine and hop growing – presented in 2009 as successor to the Fructus that Claas had taken over from Renault, built in cooperation with Carraro in Italy, the specialist for narrow-track tractors, and with FPT engines. The type logic: Nexos marks the range, the number the power step – 210 about 72 hp, 220 about 80, 230 about 90, 240 about 100 hp – the letter the configuration: F for the orchard tractor of about 1.5 to 1.9 metres wide, VE for the narrowest vineyard version from 1.38 metres, VL for the wider vineyard version; the later generation from 2018 uses the same logic with a new cab. The engine is the FPT F5C four-cylinder of 3.4 litres, with common-rail injection and turbocharging, the transmission a synchromesh gearbox with shuttle and optional powershift step, the rear axle with planetary final drives for the narrow track.

The Nexos is the tractor of the wine estates on the Moselle, the Rhine and in Burgundy, the orchards on Lake Constance and in South Tyrol and the hop gardens of the Hallertau, where a width under 1.4 metres between the vine rows decides; competitors are the Fendt 200 V/F, New Holland T4 F/V and Same Frutteto.
On used tractors, operating hours, engine and injection, clutch and shuttle, four-wheel-drive clutch, hydraulics and front linkage, cab filters for crop protection, sheet metal and corrosion from spraying work count; parts run through Claas dealers and Carraro.
