Caterpillar D7R — one class above the D6, successor to the D7H
The D7R covers nine models in the database from 171 to 179 kW and 22.7 to 27.9 tonnes, with 10.3 to 10.5 litres of displacement — from the standard version through the XR and swamp (LGP) variant to the radial-steer WHA model and the technically revised Series II across several undercarriage versions. That puts the D7R noticeably above the D6 class, forming the next weight step in Cat's dozer programme.

According to Wikipedia, the D7R replaced the D7H in 1996; the D7H had carried the elevated-sprocket design, still used today, as the first D7 to do so since 1986, rated at 215 hp. A Series II followed the D7R under the same modular approach used for the D6 — but the sources available don't name a successor that fully replaced the D7R name, so no statement about a D7T is made here.
The D7R sees use in medium-to-heavy earthmoving, mine-site prep and reclamation work, where the D6's pulling power is no longer enough but an D8 isn't yet needed.
