Case has built the Magnum series since 1987 at the Racine plant in Wisconsin as the top class of its field tractors; production continues today under the Case IH brand, formed in 1985 when J.I. Case merged with International Harvester's agricultural division. The CVX suffix marks models with a stepless transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission), while PRO denotes a later, electronically upgraded specification level. All Magnum models use six-cylinder diesel engines for work with heavy implements and in arable farming.
