The Case 7220 belongs to the tractor group and was built by Case. It is a medium‑size field tractor with a power output of 188 hp (138.3 kW) and a displacement of 8,268 cm³. The engine has six cylinders and reaches its rated speed at 2,200 rpm. The machine measures 5,610 mm in length, 2,845 mm in width and 3,080 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,006 mm. Its curb weight is 8,560 kg, the fuel tank holds 259 l, and the transmission provides 24 forward and 6 reverse gears.
A maximum torque of 690 Nm gives the tractor sufficient pulling force for heavy implements and a high start‑up torque at low speeds. The PTO speed of 540/1000 rpm allows operation of attachments with variable speed. The weight of 8,560 kg results in moderate ground pressure, keeping the tractor stable on both soft field ground and paved surfaces. The 259‑liter tank capacity enables long periods of work without frequent refuelling.
The Case 7220 is suited for typical tasks on medium to large fields, such as soil preparation, seeding and operating harvest auxiliaries. Its power and robust gearbox allow it to drive both heavy plows and larger sprayers reliably. The combination of pulling capability, torque and adequate fuel capacity makes it appropriate for a range of agricultural operations.
Case – other models: the collective page of US tractors outside the named ranges, from the drawbar-belt types such as the 10-20 through the 94 series to the 1200 Traction King, 13 to 324 kW
This page gathers the Case tractors the register could not assign to a named range – from the pre-war classics to the big four-wheel-drive tractors of the late 20th century. J. I. Case was founded in 1842 in Racine, Wisconsin, and has built tractors since the 1910s; in 1985 the farm-equipment division merged with International Harvester to form Case IH, and since 1999 the brand has belonged to CNH. On early types such as the 10-20, 12-25, 15-27, 18-32 and 22-40 the first number gives the standardised drawbar power and the second the belt power, as was customary for US tractors before 1930. The 1980s range with the ending 94 – such as the 1394, 1594, 1694, 2094, 2294, 2390 and 2670 – is known as the "94 series", the first digit giving roughly the size class. The 1200 Traction King of 1969 was one of the maker's first articulated four-wheel-drive tractors. The engines, per the register, come almost exclusively from Case's own production.

The register lists here 197 versions with 13 to 323.6 kW or 10 to 440 hp from three- to six-cylinders of 2,040 to 14,945 cm³, unladen weights from 1,250 to 17,917 kg and torque from 289 to 972 Nm.
For decades, alongside John Deere and International Harvester, Case was one of the three big US tractor brands and was strongly represented in North America and Australia; the articulated big tractors of the Traction King and Steiger tradition competed for the prairie farms, while the smaller 94-series types served the standard segment of family farms.
On used tractors, originality and the condition of engine and belt pulley count on the pre-war classics, transmission, hydraulics and electrics on the 94-series types, articulation, four-wheel drive and tyres on the articulated big tractors, and rust on sheet metal and cab throughout; parts run through the Case IH and CNH network.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
